Einhard Buchheim

Born in Sarawak, Malaysia, on the island of Borneo, raised in a small town in northern Germany, Einhard realized his dream and came to Los Angeles in 2011 to study photography. With already a BA in Business Administration in his pockets, he graduated from the photography program at Santa Monica College.

Einhard captures exciting and emotional moments in live action sports, and creates insightful portraits of athletes in their environment, in action and still. Dramatic lighting and strong, dynamic compositions are Einhard's photographic signature.

“In every assignment and challenge I see an opportunity to discover and explore, to create something special.” - Einhard

Einhard played basketball on competitive levels in his youth in Germany, but he is now an avid road cyclist. He calls Michael Jordan, Muhammad Ali and German pro cyclist Jens Voigt his heroes. Photographically, Einhard is inspired by Edward Steichen, Walter Iooss, Mark Zibert, Frank Ockenfels and Carlos Serrao.
